2017 Foals

We were blessed with nine colorful babies this past foaling season, a significant reduction from 2016 due to graduate school and my busy teaching schedule. Our foals sell weaned and halter broke. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you would like additional information or pictures.

Bay snowcap/fewspot ApHC colt born 3-30-17 
Pedigree
"Lightning" is an adorable bay snowcap/fewspot colt who is already as friendly as he is noticable. He will make an awesome, good-minded horse for the show ring or riding trails, and could also be considered as a stud prospect. One thing is certain; he is homozygous for LP and will produce 100 percent appaloosa coat pattern/characteristics if left intact. Bloodlines include the appaloosa greats and hall of fame horses Dreamfinder, Goer, Prince Plaudit, Freckles Bandit, Abdulls Pok A Son, Go Meyer Kim, Joker B, Apache, Spotted Jim, Bandido and Mighty Bright. Champagne Campaign
Amber champagne filly with a spotted blanket born 4-24-17
Pedigree
"Lady Bug" is a 2017 amber champagne blanketed filly who represents several generations of B and L Horse Ranch breeding. Her sire Champagne Cadence was born and raised here at the ranch. Her maternal grandsire Mighty White Brother was the founding stallion of this program. Her paternal great-grandsire Argentarius was our senior stallion for many years and remains a top riding horse at the ranch to this day. This filly has a fantastic build, attractive profile, straight, correct legs, an excellent top-line and world-class bloodlines. Her champagne color dilution many people love is simply the icing on the cake. Best of all she is five-panel n/n across the board for genetic defects just like her sire and dam. "Apache" is a chestnut leopard colt with an athletic build, sweet disposition and colorful coat pattern. He is performance-bred for western disciplines and will make a great all-around riding mount for anything from mounted shooting to roping and ranch work. His sire is our stallion Paradise In White, a Mighty White Brother son with a power-packed pedigree including the world champion cutting horse Go Meyer Kim. His dam was born and raised at the famous Jamison Quarter Horse Ranch in nearby Quinter, Kansas. Bloodlines include the appaloosa greats Abdulls Pok A Son, Mighty Bright Sun, Go Meyer Jim, Top Successor, Royal Exhibit, Hayes Roman Cloud, Mighty Tim and Joker B. Enchanted Frost 
Black with appaloosa characteristics filly born 5-18-17

"Enchanted" is a black 2017 filly with a gorgeous profile, muscular build and appaloosa characteristics. Like her paternal sisters Frosted Arbuckle and Frosted Cougar Lena, Enchanted will develop quite a coat pattern as she continues to mature. She is from working horse/performance lines and will make an excellent rider as well as a fantastic broodmare is so desired. Her sire is our homozygous stallion and national Top-10/ApHC point earner Sarkes Brio Frost. Her dam is our classic champagne AQHA Jamaicas Gold. Appaloosa bloodlines include Prince Plaudit, Simcoes Sarcee, Mansfields Comanche, Old Pay Day and Red Eagle. Her older brother Frosted Champagne is a fantastic riding mount we recently sold, and we believe Enchanted will be just as good-natured and easy-going under saddle. Gold champagne colt with a spotted blanket born 5-20-17 
"Aztec" is a flashy gold champagne ApHC colt with the bloodlines and athleticism to do well in the cowhorse disciplines. He is performance-bred and like his paternal brother will make a great all-around riding mount for anything from mounted shooting to roping and ranch work. His sire is our stallion Paradise In White, a Mighty White Brother son with a power-packed pedigree including the world champion cutting horse Go Meyer Kim. His dam is our sable champagne AQHA mare Glass Eyed Chex, a favorite broodmare we purchased from Slocum Stables as a weanling. Bloodlines include the hall of fame horses and appaloosa greats Abdulls Pok A Son, Mighty Bright Sun, Go Meyer Jim, Top Successor, Royal Exhibit, Hayes Roman Cloud, Mighty Tim and Joker B and the AQHA greats Doc Bar, Docs Prescription, Skipity Scoot and Tangerine Chex. Grulla with appaloosa characteristics filly born 6-15-17
"Fantasia" is a tall, feminine, well-built grulla filly with a beautiful profile and proven pedigree. She is a good-sized horse with a gentle disposition and all appaloosa characteristics. Her sire is our National Top-10 and ApHC point earner Sarkes Brio Frost. Her dam is our beautiful champagne/dun mare Champagne N Moonlite. Bloodlines include the appaloosa hall of fame horses Prince Plaudit, Mansfields Comanche and Red Eagle and the AQHA greats Major Bonanza, Coys Bonanza, Docs Dee Bar, My Skip Vanzi, Crotion Oil, Leo and Top Deck. Fantasia's pedigree combines beauty, speed and cow sense with a great aptitude for roping and ranch work.
